Feedback #1 Insight: What I'm Changing


Hey everyone!

Thanks so much for checking out the first demo ,  I’ve really appreciated all the feedback so far, and I wanted to go over a few things I’ve learned and what’s coming next.

Current Feedback: “Feels Like a Clicker”

One of the main takeaways I’ve seen is that combat feels a little stale , sort of like a clicker game. Totally fair. The good news? I’ve got two main changes coming:

1. Combat Combos + Movement

Combat will soon include:

    •    Combo attacks

    •    Critical hit variations

    •    Dodging and dashing mechanics

This should make fights feel more fluid, strategic, and satisfying.

2. Smarter Enemies

Right now, enemies just run straight at you. In the next demo:

    •    Goblins will flank and try to surround you

    •    Slimes will still rush in — they’re not too bright

    •    New enemies: Trolls (throw rocks and back away) and The Skeleton King (new boss)

Also, the Slime Boss is becoming the Slime King, now a mini-boss. You’ll still earn the Slime Sword after defeating it, but it’ll be nerfed to be strong only against slimes,  though it will get a buff to durability.

Minimap Incoming

This is something I planned early on, but after seeing how easy it is to get lost or backtrack, I’m pushing it up in priority. The minimap will:

    •    Show the layout of the dungeon

    •    Indicate which rooms you’ve visited

    •    Possibly highlight room types (still deciding how detailed it’ll be)

This should really help with exploration, and finding the boss room.

Other Upcoming Changes

    •    Item and scroll rarities are being balanced

    •    Player movement speed is being increased slightly

    •    Room layouts and flow are getting some fixes

    •    Attack indicators

    •    More quality-of-life changes and polish coming soon!
